Tri-Creek School Community:

SPECIAL REFERENDUM ANNOUNCEMENT

Voters have spoken–the 2023 Operating Referendum has failed. Unfortunately, this means the process of identifying approximately $1 million in budget cuts for the 2024-2025 school year will begin in the coming months and will probably require taking the rest of the calendar year to make many tough final decisions. All current employees are slated to have their jobs through the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Thank you to the many individuals and organizations who believed in our schools and gave their support in many different ways. Finding good quality people to care for our kids, teach our students, and make a positive impact in the lives of our children during a time of significant societal challenges is not easy. Education is a door to opportunities in life, democracy, and making our world a better place. It was encouraging to see those of you in our community who demonstrated that understanding through your positive words, actions, and influence.

Despite the outcome of the election, Tri-Creek Schools will remain committed to our guiding principles:

  • Safe, Positive Environment
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Shared Responsibility
  • Focus on Solutions

These principles will keep us grounded and focused as we plan a future without the financial support and resources available to us had the referendum passed.

We have a lot to celebrate about our current students, programs, and successes. It’s time to move on and finish the school year strong with a focus on what is most important–the students that fill the classrooms of our schools.
