Tri-Creek School Corporation has selected SchoolNow as our communications provider to send out school communications that include both emergency and general announcements. This notifications system allows us to send out timely information via voice, text and email. The system also allows us to push out emergency alerts to our website, the SchoolNow mobile app and social media.
In order to use the SchoolNow system you need to be a registered parent of a Tri-Creek student or a Tri-Creek staff member. You can check your SchoolNow notification contacts via the SchoolNow Communications Portal or via the SchoolNow mobile app - search your device's App Store to download SchoolNow.
Below are some frequently asked questions regarding the SchoolNow system. If you have additional questions about SchoolNow not answered here please contact your child's school.
Skyward Family Access is your access to your child's record in our student information system. This will allow you to see information such as attendance, grades, class schedules, and health information.
The SchoolNow app gives you access to information about your child's school including events, calendars, staff contact information, news and more. You also have access to emergency alerts.
After the app has been downloaded and launched for the first time a parent/guardian can add either their email address or phone number on file with the school; employees will use their phone number or school email address to access the app. You will be sent a login code to verify your identity. After putting in the code you will be able to see your contact information. There is no password to remember, just use your phone number or email on file with Tri-Creek.

Please note that you are not required to have the SchoolNow mobile app in order to receive urgent messages via text, email or phone. The SchoolNow mobile app supports instant push notifications that will show up on your phone or mobile device.
No. We make it easy to access SchoolNow simply by matching the email address or phone number associated with your student on file at the school. We will then send you a 6-digit code (either by email or text, based on how you are authenticating) to be entered to complete the authentication process.
Your information is held in Skyward, our student information system, and the app and portal can reference that information securely. Skyward updates SchoolNow daily with new and updated contact information. If you need to change contact information please contact your child's school.
SchoolNow utilizes the Primary Phone number listed in Skyward to set up your initial preferences. For many families this is listed as one parent’s cell phone number. A common question we have received is if more than one parent can receive calls if they are not listed as the Primary Phone Number. You do have the ability to add multiple parent phone numbers into your SchoolNow account.
If you enter your phone number and see another parent listed (your spouse, partner, etc.) and would like to add their phone number via the SchoolNow Communication Portal you can do so by selecting their name, verifying using the code sent to your device, and clicking Add Additional Phone. If you are using the SchoolNow mobile app you can add an additional phone number via the gear icon at the top of the screen.

If you are a legal parent or guardian and need to update your phone or email contact information you can do so in Skyward Family Access. Updates are pushed from Skyward to SchoolNow several times daily. Below are instructions on how to update your contact information. It is recommended that you make these changes from a computer or tablet as Skyward Family Access is not optimized for phones.
To update contact information please log in to Skyward Family Access.
1) Click on Student Info on the left side of the screen (marked 1 in green in the screenshot below)
2) You should see a list of all students in your family. You will only need to make an update to one student and it will apply to all students in the family. To make changes click on the Request Changes for link next to the student's name (marked 2 in green below). A list will drop down - please select Family Information.
3) A Family Information screen similar to what you see in the screenshot below will pop up. This may look different depending on the number of guardians in your family, etc. To update your phone number please edit the Primary Phone (marked 3 in the screenshot). To update your email select the Home Email for Guardian Number 1 (also marked 3 in the screenshot).
4) Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
SchoolNow updates several times daily and your updated info should be picked up by the next day. If you do not see an updated number in SchoolNow please contact your child's school.
If you notice any incorrect information listed (missing students, additional parent contacts that need to be removed, misspelled names, etc) you can request an update via the Request A Change button in the SchoolNow Communication Portal. If you are in the SchoolNow mobile app you can request an update on the Contact Info page by clicking Submit An Issue. You will be asked to verify the information listed and you can provide more information on what you would like to have changed.
Please note that all changes may require confirmation from your child's school before acceptance and depending on the requested change you may be asked to provide more information.
You do not need to download the SchoolNow app to receive email and text notifications from your school. However, downloading the app is necessary to get immediate push notifications and full access to your school's feed and information. Emergency weather notifications will still be posted to district social media, the website, and local radio and TV.
In your contact preferences you have the option to opt out of text, email, or mobile communication. Please note however, that urgent communications (such as a fire, lockdown or another school emergency) may be sent regardless of your settings.
General messages are used for announcements, reminders, and links to important events and information.
Urgent messages are used for critical alerts and updates such as weather delays, school closures, and important time sensitive events that may impact student safety or scheduled events.
Please note that you can opt out of general messages at any time in the SchoolNow app or the SchoolNow Communications Portal.
By default you are only sent or shown the communications and information associated with the district and schools your student attends. SchoolNow will recognize your children and their appropriate schools.
